The Incident Commander may be selected based on the nature of the incident, leading the Crisis Management Leadership Team through the process of response, management and transition, while concurrently guiding and supporting the affected Local Incident Management Teams responding at the point of crisis. It is important for those assuming this critical function to understand their roles and responsibilities, as well as the roles and responsibilities of those in their team and in supportive stakeholders.
