Understanding how and when to apply force in a mature and well thought out manner is critical to ensure appropriate actions are taken which protects all parties. A failure to understand the escalation of force, and applying a ‘heavy handed’ approach could escalate the situation, result in unnecessary injuries – and could lead to arrests, litigation risks and reputational damages.
